Menopause is one of the most universal transitions a patient will go through, and it reaches far beyond hot flashes. In this free introductory webinar, Herman & Wallace faculty member Christine Stewart, PT, CMPT, walks pelvic therapists through the foundations of the menopause transition, the wide range of symptoms patients experience, and where skilled pelvic rehabilitation fits into their care. It is a welcoming starting point whether menopause is new clinical territory for you or you simply want a clearer framework to bring to your patients. Bring your questions for the live discussion.
Conversations about menopause have moved from a taboo subject into the mainstream, and patients are arriving with more questions than ever. Yet many clinicians were never taught how the menopause transition reshapes the body, or how much of that change lands squarely within the scope of pelvic rehabilitation. This webinar is designed to close that gap. In one focused session, Christine Stewart, PT, CMPT, lays out the essentials so pelvic therapists can recognize what is happening, validate what their patients are feeling, and respond with confidence.
What the webinar covers
Christine introduces the full arc of the menopause transition, from perimenopause through postmenopause, and the shifting hormonal profile that drives it. You will get a clear overview of the symptoms patients commonly report, including genitourinary changes, vaginal and tissue health, pelvic floor and sexual function, musculoskeletal complaints, sleep disruption, mood, and long term concerns such as bone density. Throughout, the focus stays practical, connecting each change to the role a pelvic therapist can play in education, treatment, and reassurance.
Who should attend
This introduction is built for pelvic therapists and pelvic health clinicians who want a solid foundation in menopause care. Whether you are early in your pelvic rehab journey or experienced and looking to fold menopause more intentionally into your practice, you will leave with a framework you can use right away with the patients in front of you.
Why menopause belongs in pelvic rehab
In a survey of postgraduate trainees in internal medicine, family medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology, ninety percent felt unprepared to manage patients experiencing menopause (Reid, 2021). That gap is exactly where pelvic health providers can step in. By calming patients' fears through education, and by treating the pelvic, sexual, and musculoskeletal symptoms within our reach, we can ease the burden of this period of adaptation and help patients flourish through a critical phase of life.
