Boundaries, Self-Care, and Meditation is a course born out of the personal and professional struggles of the instructors Nari Clemons, PT, PRPC and Jenna Ross, MSPT, BCB-PMD, PRPC and their journey to having a loved and sustainable life and practice.
The intention of this class is deep, personal and professional transformation through evidence-based information and practices.
This course has several hours of pre-course instruction videos to be viewed before the live portion of the course. These videos set the stage for participants understanding themselves, their brain, and their behaviors around coping, self-care, empathy and burnout. Exploring lectures on the latest neuroscience, burnout, boundaries and self-care strategies will help participants recognize patterns that need to shift and give them permission and tools for change.
Participants' commitment to pre-course work will facilitate rich discussion as the lessons learned are put into into practice around building a shared responsibility model of patient care, language to support difficult patients, and both visualizing and planning steps to create new, healthier patterns their lives and practices.
In the live portion of the course, participants will take a deeper dive into what it means to be an empath in health care and in life. Participants will learn to identify unhelpful relational patterns, like codependency, in their patients and others, and skills on how to use language and boundaries to create shifts that keep them grounded and prevent excessive energic and emotional disruptions. Learning new strategies to preserve energy, wellness and passion while practicing appropriate self-care and boundaries will lead to helpful relationships with complex people and patients. Throughout the course, participants will dive deeper to understand energetic relationships with others, including spiritual connections. Yoga will be utilized as a mode of restoration and connection with breath, body and spirit. Participants will refine what their life purpose, mission, and joy potential are in this life and walk away from this experience equipped with a deeper understanding and direct strategies to encourage healing for both themselves and their patients with a mind, body, and spirit approach.
Following the course's completion, participants may be invited to further collaborate with encouragement and sharing experiences through an online platform.
