Christy Reed Watson, OTR/L, PRPC (Tupelo, MS)

Christy Watson PRPC picChristy earned her degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Mississippi in 1995 and has practiced Occupational Therapy for over 23 years in a variety of settings. In 1995 she pioneered the first Interdisciplinary Stroke Team—Acute Care, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. She is active in the American Occupational Therapy Association, World Federation of Occupational Therapy, and Mississippi Occupational Therapy Association. Christy is an avid learner and passionate about continuing her education and has been has received training in Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, and Sensory Integration. These skills have been integral in the holistic treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction in Women and in pre and post operative treatment of men with prostate cancer, as well as in research and development. She has received specialized training in biofeedback and its use in pelvic floor disorders. She is the founding therapist and director of Rebound Women’s Health and the first Occupational Therapist in Mississippi to hold the Pelvic Rehabilitation Practictioner Certification through Herman and Wallace. Christy incorporates a multifaceted approach to women’s health and prostatectomy patients, putting to use her Occupational Therapy psychological training, implementing resilience training, as well as Cognitive Behavioral approach, and her knowledge of craniosacral therapy, mysofascial release, and sensory integration with her clients to better treat the patient in a holistic manner. By doing so, it is her desire to enable the patient to reach her/his desired goals and maximum function. Recently she has served as a Teaching Assisstant for Herman and Wallace. For Christy, treating pelvic floor disorders is far more than a job, but rather a passion and joy to serve her unique patient population with empathy and compassion.
