Pediatric Incontinence and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction

This continuing education course focuses on the treatment of children with day or nighttime incontinence, fecal incontinence, and/or dysfunctional voiding habits. The course will review common causes of incontinence in the pediatric patient as well as a comprehensive approach to evaluation, including video examinations of the pelvic floor, education and exercise strategies.

Upon completion of this continuing education seminar, participants will understand:
1. Anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor and normal urinary control in pediatrics.
2. Pelvic floor function and it’s relationship to voiding reflexes
3. Pediatric urology terminology and urodynamic testing in the pediatric patient
4. Pediatric pelvic floor dysfunctions as it relates to bowel and bladder function
5. Psychological effects of bowel and bladder dysfunction
6. Behavioral treatment of pediatric pelvic floor dysfunctions
7. SEMG use in the pediatric patient
8. Treatment progressions
